Things You Can Do While Visiting La Gomera
La Gomera offers relaxing experience to tourist and families who are looking to admire natural beauty. However, many people don't know where La Gomera is, for them this is like million dollar question that can come anytime in quiz show. For those who don't know, La Gomera is the part of Canary Islands which is not so far from Tenerife.
Tenerife is the known as one of the best tourist spot for British people and for this reason La Gomera is seems to have avoided mass-hype which I can tell you is actually a good thing.
La Gomera contains small statures that offer beautiful view. Truly speaking La Gomera is heaven in our Earth. Although La Gomera is only fifteen miles long but it offers lots of natural beautiful scenes that you can admire with your family.
There are around 22,000 people living in this island of La Gomera. These people mostly use mountains to worship their God Orahan. This small and beautiful island is also renowned as the last port for Christopher Columbus in 1492 before he came across Atlantic Ocean and to the Americas.
Best Place To Visit:
One of the best place to visit in La Gomera is now the dormant volcano. Other known places to visit are World Heritage Site and Garajonay National Park.
This Garajonay National Park is world famous tourist spot because the highest peak of this National Park is often covered with mysterious clouds that provide pleasant experience. Additionally, this National Park contains marked routes that you can use to walk, jog or cycle.
La Gomera contains some beautiful beaches in Canary Island. The black sand beach is quite famous tourist destination but it is little bit rocky than other beaches. Additionally, it's clear water offers great opportunity for scuba diving and water sports.
You can visit some known restaurants in La Gomera. The Parador Hotel is the only four star hotel that you will find in La Gomera.
Best Way To Travel In La Gomera
Once you reach to the La Gomera Airport, you can use TF-713 Highway to get out and travel around the island. If you don't want to take a bus then you can hire a taxi that park just outside the terminal. Hail a taxi and you can go anywhere around the island. However, it is important to know that taxi fares changes a lot even day charges are different than night charges and usually on holidays and weekends you have to pay extra.
One of the best option to travel around the island that I prefer as well is a rented car. There are offices of three international cars providers inside the airport. Europcar, Avis and Cicar are offering their car hiring services since very long here.
Additionally, these three car hire providers have web portal from where you can book your car even days before you arrive. You don't have to visit their office and fill up forms if you book through online portal. Just ask for keys and drive the car parked just outside the terminal.
